Our Impartiality Policy
Top management, managers, and staff of International Halal are fully aware of the importance of impartiality while conducting certification activities. Therefore, International Halal has ensured that all its employees and other personnel directly or indirectly involved in any capacity maintain impartiality in all relations with clients or potential clients and shall not allow any commercial, financial, or other pressures to compromise impartiality. In order to ensure both the maintenance and demonstration of impartiality, the following principles have been established:
- The senior management of International Halal always demonstrates commitment to impartiality.
- All personnel at International Halal must act impartially in certification activities.
- International Halal Certificates are issued only after an independent, authorized, and impartial audit and review to ensure that no interest predominates.
- International Halal does not certify another certification body for management system certification activities.
International Halal IHC will not outsource audits to a management system consulting firm, as this would present an unacceptable threat to the impartiality of the certification body.
Impartiality Policy and Public Statement
- International Halal does not have any relationships with companies offering consulting, internal auditing services, or other services that could be interpreted as having an impact on the certification services provided by International Halal. This policy also applies to any future relationships.
- Existing relationships with companies, organizations, and individuals will be regularly assessed for risks to ensure they do not affect the impartiality of the certification process.
- Individuals employed by or contracted with International Halal are required to document and record all current and past relationships with companies. Any situation, past or present, that could potentially create a conflict of interest must be disclosed to International Halal. International Halal will use this information to identify threats to impartiality and will not use such individuals unless they can demonstrate there is no conflict of interest. The risk assessment will be conducted by the impartiality committee.
